Pre-Requisites

This Vedanta-based retreat is open to all levels of Yoga or Vedanta aspirants who wish to deepen their knowledge and application of some of the teachings. Participants do not need to be yoga teachers.

Course Details

Topic: Vedanta and freedom from distressing emotions

Immerse yourself in the basics of Yoga and Vedanta - the science of Self-knowledge. The emphasis will be on study and contemplation based on Vedanta Philosophy. Ideal for those new to Yoga and Vedanta.

This one week course gives you insight in to the nature of the Self and how one can deal with one's emotions by the power of this Self-knowledge. The words of Vedanta are effectively introducing the relaxed Self to you directly, rather than describing it. This teaching of traditional Vedanta also endows us with clarity about one's purpose and discover meaning in one's life. This course is open to all and does not require prior exposure to Yoga or Vedanta. There will also guided meditations based on the teaching during the course.

The pristine setting of our ashram in the hills of Amboli in India, with comfortable rooms and healthy sattvic food and hatha yoga practice is particularly congenial for this journey towards self-discovery.

• Attendance at all activities is mandatory.
Changes in the program may occur from time to time as per the prevailing conditions.

Assessment and Certification

A certificate of attendance will be offered to the participants. There is no any kind of examination for this course. Participation in all classes is mandatory.

Presenters

Sri. Raghav Kumar - The main teacher of the course will be Sri Raghav Kumar.

Sri. Raghav Kumar comes from a family lineage steeped in the Vedic tradition – a background which has guided him & shaped his spiritual pursuits. After a degree in electronics engineering and a stint in the corporate sector as an IT professional, he felt drawn to a full-time pursuit of meditation and also charitable service activities to underprivileged sections of Indian society through the Ramakrishna Mission.

In 2001, Raghav first traveled the Himalayas, to Uttarkashi & Rishikesh, where he studied Sanskrit, Vedanta and Yoga Philosophy under the guidance of Swami Dayananda Saraswati and also other respected spiritual teachers. Since 2011, he has been dividing his time between Uttarkashi in the Himalayas, Thiruvannamalai in Southern India near the ashram of Sri Ramana Maharshi, and teaching Yoga philosophy, Bhagavad Gita and other Vedanta texts.

To finish the formality of registration:
Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit of donation for three days.
Non-Indian or non-resident Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit of donation for three days.

Please note:

Course donations are non-refundable, however any unused amount may be transferred, minus an administration fee, to another course within one year of the original course starting date. Or a credit note may be issued minus the administration fee. Credit notes are valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any other courses/ programs or for anybody recommended by the depositor and also for boutique items or any other supplementary services.

Admission to any course is on first come first serve basis.
All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.
