Requirements – Pre-requisites :

➢ There are NO pre-requisites expected of participants before taking this course except knowledge of English.

Nisargopachar Propagation Trust (Working for the cause and welfare of mankind through nature cure ), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India ( www.naturecureindia.org ) will be conducting a four days long Foot Reflexology and Shiatsu Intensive in the Kodakkad location while Sivananda Peetham will conduct the yoga activities during the workshop days for the participants.

Course Overview :

Reflexology and Shiatsu are non-invasive body work therapy. Both are based on the same principles of body self-healing energy concept defined in Oriental Medicine. The theory proves that entire body has relation to the specific areas on the body surface. These are reflex areas and are identified on the feet and hand under Reflexology, whereas in Shiatsu, areas are located on and around affected body part. These both are complimentary therapies. Based on the theory, body energy is regulated to bio-equilibrium when varied specific areas and points are stimulated. Oriental Medicine can be practiced with different modalities of stimulation. Mechanical means ~ Acupressure (in Japanese Shi – means fingers of hand and Atsu – means pressure) is one. Self-healing quality of the body is enhanced or accelerated by these therapies.

Description :

Reflexology is practiced globally by many. It is a popular therapy that uses specific reflex points on the hands and feet for stimulation to improve health and well-being. For reasons Foot Reflexology is practiced by most of the practitioners. The Reflexology & Shiatsu both therapies are proven over the years to treat variety of medical conditions of the body. In combination these give an added edge – a synergetic effect. These methods are very effective and efficient. It has a peculiar way of diagnostic assessment. Many have started to resort to these methods as their first option. The course is designed in the manner that the aspirant practitioners will acquire professional approach to address the ailments. This helps therapists to achieve bio-equilibrium proficiently. The course contents provide the knowledge of Foot Reflexology and Shiatsu along with related Surface Anatomy.

Assessment and Certification

The participants are continuously assessed throughout the course at all levels. Participant should pass all different aspects of the course to be eligible for the course diploma. There will be a written exam at the end of the course to evaluate the students’ understanding of the Science of Reflexology & Shiatsu .

Assessment is based on:

1. Regular attendance of all classes
2. Attitude and behaviour inside and outside of the ashram while attending the course
3. Performance and attitude in the practical workshops.
4. Written & Oral examination of 1.50 hrs on the theories of Foot Reflexology and Shiatsu.

Nisargopachar Propogation Trust will award a Certificate to successful participants.

To finish the formality of registration:

Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit donation of Rs 5000

Non-Indian or non-resident Indian nationals : Need to send a non-refundable deposit donation of USD 100.

Please Note:

The course donation should be remitted completely at the latest by 2 weeks before the starting date of the course.

Course donations are non-refundable, however any unused amount may be transferred, minus an administration fee of Rs 2000, to another course within one year of the original course starting date. Alternatively, a credit note may be issued minus the administration fee. Credit notes are valid for one year from date of issue and can be used for any other courses/ programs or for anybody recommended by the depositor and also for boutique items or any other supplementary services.

General Information

Please read course details as well as the course location information carefully before making a decision to register.
Total number of participants for any course is 20.
Admission to any course is on first come first serve basis.
All the courses are taught in English, there is currently no translation facility available into any other language.
Students should plan latest to arrive on the arrival day and depart on the day of departure.
It is recommended that Participants spend at least a few days in the course location before the start of your course. This allows the body and mind to have a little time to rest, re-energise and be nourished by the ashram environment. Participants can then begin their study feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Participants may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from the study to integrate more fully into their consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram.
If one decides to arrive early and also to stay longer, please register for the course program for those additional days. The guest need to pay the daily donations for the extra days.

To maintain the spiritual atmosphere we ask all ashram guests to comply with the ashram rules. Kindly refer to the Ashram rules and guidelines for more information.
The ashram reserves the right of admission and students may be asked to leave if their behaviour goes against the ashram rules and teachings.
